Presented by Shannon Taggart

Spiritualism and photography both emerged in the mid 19th-century and have been inextricably linked ever since. This workshop will be a visual exploration of the history of spirit photography. Topics of discussion will include photographic attempts to prove mesmerism, the subject of ectoplasm, and the history of instrumental transcommunication. We will also conduct two photography experiments, one with a Kirlian photography device and the other using water and light. Participants will receive copies of these experiments via email. Shannon Taggart’s Spiritualism images will also be shared throughout the presentation. Please feel free to bring your own anomalous photos for discussion
